Your article (brain-high-tech brain drain threatens British university research, Nov. 2) contains one chilling revelation: that Google Depend now runs artificial intelligence courses in Oakleigh and Oxford.
After people have met Depend in my league with the Media Lab dead, I know that their definition of "intelligence" is so poor that it does not exceed abstract calculations that can achieve an algorithm and completely fail to understand that human intelligence is embodied and distributed throughout our physical selves - And already between them, in the mirror neurons that burn in empathy when we watch a dancer or help an injured friend. In short, it's not just depressed, it's a bad science.
