للربع الثاني على التوالي تحقق نتائج أوبر المالية خسائر صافية بقيمة تزيد عن مليار دولار، وهذه المرة زادت الخسائر لتصل إلى 1.46 مليار دولار مقارنة مع 1,06 مليار دولار خسائر الربع الثاني الماضي.
وتعزى الخسائر التي تحققها أوبر إلى تنامي المنافسة العالمية مثل Grab في آسيا وحتى السوق الأمريكي مع Lyft حيث يرى المدير التنفيذي أن أوبر لن تحقق أية حصة سوقية مربحة للأشهر الستة المقبلة.
وارتفعت عائدات الشركة الإجمالية من المبيعات خلال هذا الربع لتصل إلى 2 مليار دولار مقارنة مع 1,66 مليار دولار الربع الماضي. وتسعى أوبر لبيع حصة من الشركة إلى مجموعة SoftBank اليابانية.
وبصورة عامة ارتفعت قيمة الحجوزات لتصل إلى 9.71 مليار دولار مقارنة مع 8.74 مليار دولار ما يعكس زيادة حركة الرحلات.
تعتزم أوبر طرح أسهمها للإكتتاب العام في البورصة عام 2019 ما يعني أنه يجب أن تعيد الشركة للربحية حتى تتمكن من الحصول على تمويل كافي حينها.
