Now, this is not entirely unexpected. As Raylund Wong, former head of information technology at Mashbel, pointed out, the OLED screens are simply more vulnerable to issues such as burning and decay (although problems appear to be more prevalent on display screens than specific suppliers).
However, the fact that Apple is preparing iPhone owners for X issues at the front suggests that it could be more of a widespread concern, although the company says it has engineered the offer to minimize the issue.
Apple says it expects this type of issue to continue mainly in "extreme cases" when "the same high-contrast image is displayed continuously for long periods of time." Therefore, iPhone X owners may want to take note and guard against the possibility of burning in using the automatic brightness settings iOS is being more cautious than it is on the screen when the brightness is turned all the way up.
