اكتشاف ثغرة في إقلاع نظام تشغيل الماك .!
اكتشفت شركة أمنية ثغرة خطيرة في نظام تشغيل حواسب الماك تؤثر على عدد غير محدود من الأجهزة والتي يمكن أن تصيب أيضاً نظام ويندوز.
وظهرت الثغرة عندما تفحصت شركة الأمن Duo حوالي 70 ألف كمبيوتر ماك وتتعلق الثغرة بما يعرف بـ EFI وهي الواجهة المسؤولة عن إقلاع وتشغيل نظام macOS وتظهر خطورة الثغرة بأنها تخص الإقلاع بالتالي كل العمليات البرمجية تعتمد عليها وعند إساءة استغلالها يمكن تحقيق أضرار كبيرة على المستخدم.
وكان الباحثون الأمنيون في الشركة يبحثون عن عدد حواسب الماك التي تعمل بنسخة قديمة من نظام التشغيل. حالياً عندما يقوم المستخدم بتنزيل تحديث لنظام التشغيل فإنه يتم تحديث الـ firmware لآخر إصدار متاح، لكن ما يحصل غير ذلك حيث يعمل حواسب المستخدمين بنسخ نظام ماك حديثة لكن إصدار الـ firmware قديم.
وأظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن حوالي 16 طراز مختلف من حواسب الماك تعاني من هذه الثغرة والعديد من حواسب iMAC المكتبية القديمة التي تعود إلى 2015 كانت الأكثر تضرراً حيث 45% منها تعمل بإصدارات firmware قديمة.
ومن جهتها قالت شركة آبل أنها على علم بهذه الثغرة وتعمل دائماً على البحث عن طرق لزيادة حماية نظام الماك مشيرة إلى أن نظام macOS High Sierra يقوم اسبوعياً بالتحقق من firmware نظام الماك في الأجهزة.
Omnia has discovered a serious flaw in the operating system of the Mac computers affecting an unlimited number of devices that can also infect the Windows system.
The gap appeared when Duo examined about 70,000 Mac computers. The vulnerability is known as the EFI, the interface responsible for the launch and operation of the macOS system. The vulnerability of the vulnerability appears to be boot-based, so all software operations depend on it and when exploited, it can cause significant damage to the user.
The security researchers at the company were looking for the number of Mac computers running an older version of the operating system. Currently, when the user downloads an update to the operating system, the firmware is updated to the latest available version, but otherwise the user computers are running a modern Mac system but the firmware version is outdated.
The study found that 16 different models of Mac computers suffer from this gap and many older iMAC office computers dating back to 2015 were the hardest hit, with 45% of them running old firmware versions.
For its part, Apple said that it is aware of this gap and is always looking for ways to increase protection of the Mac system, noting that the system macOS High Sierra weekly verifies the firmware of the Mac system in the devices.
