رُصدت أجهزة قوقل الجديدة، قوقل هوم ميني Google Home Mini، وهي تقوم بالاستماع لأحاديث المستخدم وتسجيلها لإرسالها لخوادم الشركة، وذلك دون إذن من المُستخدم.
وأشار موقع Android Police لوجود هذه المُشكلة بعدما لاحظ إضاءة المؤشّرات الموجودة على الوجه العلوي للجهاز، وهذا يعني أنه يستمع لمحادثة المستخدم.
وبشكل عام، فإن تفعيل الاستماع لحديث المستخدم يتم عن طريق الأوامر الصوتية عند نطق “أوك قوقل”. كما يُمكن في جهاز هوم ميني لمس الأضواء الموجودة على الوجه العلوي لتفعيل هذا الأمر.
ولم تتأخّر شركة قوقل في الرد مُباشرةً مُعترفة بوجود المُشكلة في جزء صغير من تلك الأجهزة، وقامت بشكل فوري بإطلاق تحديث جديد لنظام تشغيلها يقوم بإيقاف تلك الميّزة، أي تفعيل المساعد الرقمي من خلال لمس الأضواء.
ويبدو أن طبقة القُماش الموجودة على الوجه العلوي للجهاز ساهمت في تفعيل المُستشعر الذي يستجيب للمس ظنًّا منه أن المستخدم يقوم بلمس الجهاز. لتعود الشركة وتؤكد من جديد أن الأجهزة المُباعة في المتاجر لن يُعاني مُستخدموها من تلك المشكلة أبدًا.

In general, the activation of listening to the user's talk is done by voice commands when speaking "Okogel". The Home Mini can touch the lights on the top face to activate this.
Google did not delay responding directly, acknowledging the problem in a small part of these devices, and immediately launched a new update to its operating system that turns off the feature, that is, activating the digital assistant by touching the lights.
The fabric layer on the upper face of the device seems to have activated the sensor that responds to the user's perception that the device is touching the device. The company reiterates that the devices sold in stores will never suffer from its users of that problem.
