تويتر تتوقف مؤقتاً عن توثيق الحسابات.
كما تعلمون بدأت تويتر قبل عدة أشهر بالسماح لأي مستخدم أن يوثق حسابه باتباع شروط معينة ذكرتها الشبكة الاجتماعية، لكن لاحقاً تم إساءة استخدام فكرة توثيق الحسابات، لذا أعلنت تويتر عن التوقف المؤقت عن توثيق أية حسابات جديدة.
ذكرت تويتر أن توثيق الحساب يهدف لتأكيد هوية ورأي المستخدم، لكن ما حصل أن الناس أصبحوا ينظرون لتوثيق الحساب على أنه ترقية أو مؤشر للأهمية، وهنا كان لابد لتدخل تويتر لإزالة هذا الالتباس.
لم توضح تويتر ما الإجراءات التي ستتخذها لاحقاً قبل إعادة السماح بتوثيق الحسابات من جديد. وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن تويتر سبق أن أزالت شارة التوثيق من بعض الحسابات الموثقة لمخالفتها بنود الاستخدام.
