وأوضح مارك زوكربيرج أن أرباح الفيسبوك سوف تضرب من خلال تدابير لمعالجة سوء المعاملة.
وقال "ان مجتمعنا مستمر فى النمو وان اعمالنا تقوم بعمل جيد".
"ولكن أيا من ذلك لا يهم إذا تم استخدام خدماتنا بطرق لا تقرب الناس معا.
"نحن جادون لمنع إساءة الاستخدام على منصاتنا. نحن نستثمر الكثير في الأمن الذي سيؤثر على الربحية. حماية مجتمعنا هو أكثر أهمية من تعظيم أرباحنا ".
وقال الفايسبوك ان اجمالي العائدات بلغ اكثر من 10.3 مليار دولار (7.7 مليار جنيه استرليني).
وكشف التقرير المالي الأخير للشركة أن الشبكة الاجتماعية لديها الآن 2.07 مليار مستخدم نشط شهريا، 1.37 مليار منها الوصول إلى منصة كل يوم.
وتأتي هذه النتائج في أعقاب ظهور الفيسبوك أمام الكونغرس الأمريكي، جنبا إلى جنب مع تويتر وجوجل، حيث تم فحص شركات التكنولوجيا على محتوى الشرطة.
ويقوم السياسيون الأمريكيون بالتحقيق في إمكانية استخدام المنصات من خلال الحسابات المرتبطة بالروس لنشر الدعاية.
"Our society continues to grow and our business is doing a good job," he said.
"But none of that matters if our services are used in ways that do not bring people together.
"We are serious about preventing abuse on our platforms, and we are investing a lot in security that will affect profitability." Protecting our community is more important than maximizing our profits.
Facebook said the total revenue was more than 10.3 billion dollars (7.7 billion pounds).
The company's latest financial report revealed that the social network now has 2.07 billion active users per month, of which 1.37 billion access to a platform every day.
The results come in the wake of Facebook's appearance before the US Congress, along with Twitter and Google, where technology companies have been scrutinized on police content.
US politicians are investigating the possibility of using platforms through Russian-linked accounts to spread propaganda.
