بيانات أكثر من 1.7 مليون مستخدم لموقع Imgur تسرّبت نتيجة اختراق في 2014 .
أكّد القائمون على موقع Imgur لمشاركة الصور أن خوادم الشركة تعرّضت للاختراق في 2014 الأمر الذي أدّى لتسريب بيانات 1.7 مليون مستخدم في ذلك الوقت، وهو جزء من إجمالي مستخدمي الموقع الشهريين الذي يصل إلى 150 مليون.
وتحدّث أحد المسؤولين في الموقع عن هذا الأمر ذاكرًا أن عناوين البريد الإلكتروني وكلمات المرور تسرّبت نتيجة لذلك الاختراق لأن الشركة بالأساس لا تجمع أسماء وعناوين مُستخدميها. وأضاف أن احتمالية فك تشفير كلمات المرور كبيرة جدًا مع انقضاء تلك الفترة، حيث اعتمدت الشركة وقتها على خوارزميات SHA-256، مُشيرًا لتغييرها في 2016.
وحصل موقع Have I Been Pwned على البيانات المُسرّبة لإضافتها لقاعدة بياناته، وبالتالي يُمكن لأي مستخدم إدخال بريده الإلكتروني لمعرفة فيما إذا كانت بياناته ضمن القائمة المُسرّبة.
Imgur's image-sharing team confirmed that the company's servers were hacked in 2014, which resulted in the leak of 1.7 million users at that time, part of the monthly total of 150 million users.
An official at the site spoke about this, saying that e-mail addresses and passwords were leaked as a result of that hacking because the company basically does not collect the names and addresses of its users. He added that the probability of decryption of passwords is very large with the expiration of that period, where the company adopted the time on the algorithms SHA-256, indicating the change in 2016.
The site Have I Been Pwned has leaked data to add to its database, so any user can enter his e-mail to see if his data is in the leaked list.
