أجهزة جالاكسي ستُصبح قادرة على تشغيل نظام لينكس بعد وصلها بـ DeX
كشفت شركة سامسونج عن مُبادرة “لينكس على أجهزة جالاكسي” Linux on Galaxy التي تهدف من خلالها لتوفير نظام لينكس على أجهزة جالاكسي بعد وصلهم بجهاز “ديكس” DeX الذي كشفت عنه مع هواتف “جالاكسي إس 8”.
وستأتي تلك المبادرة على شكل تطبيق يسمح للمستخدمين بتشغيل نظام لينكس بعد الاستفادة من نواة نظام أندرويد، المبنيّة بالأساس على نواة نظام لينكس، وهذا يعني أن المُطوّرين سيكون بإمكانهم نقل بيئة العمل الخاص بهم من مكان لآخر عن طريق الهاتف فقط.
ولا يعني الكلام السابق أن المستخدم سيكون بإمكانه اختيار توزيعة ما من توزيعات لينكس لاستخدامها على جالاكسي. لكنه سيكون قادر على تثبيت تطبيقاته ومستنداته المتوافقة مع لينكس دون مشاكل لاستخدامها في أي مكان.
ولا يوجد تطبيق عملي لتلك الفكرة في الوقت الراهن، إلا أن سامسونج توفّر صفحة يُمكن ترك البريد الإلكتروني فيها للحصول على تنبيه فور وصول التطبيق لاختباره.
Samsung unveiled the Linux on Galaxy initiative, which aims to provide Linux on Galaxy devices after connecting to the DeX device that was unveiled with the Galaxy S8.
The initiative will come as an application that allows users to run Linux after taking advantage of the core of the Android system, built primarily on Linux kernel, meaning that developers will be able to transfer their work environment from place to place by phone only.
The previous speech does not mean that the user will be able to choose a distribution of Linux distributions for use on the Galaxy. But it will be able to install its Linux-compatible applications and documents without problems for use anywhere.
There is no practical application of this idea at the moment, but Samsung provides a page where the email can be left to be alerted as soon as the application arrives to test it.
